The Moore family celebrates after the game. CG ended their undefeated season with a 28-16 win at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Zach Wells anticipates the end of the game with his teammates and coaches. The crowd and field erupted with noise after Matt Pence’s interception with 52 seconds left in the game.
Titus McCoy makes a run on his way towards a touchdown. After the win, the team could hardly believe what had happened. “Honestly, I do not know what to think. This is kind of just a dream moment. 2008, I was just sitting up in the bleachers as a little kid thinking ‘I wonder what it would be like’ and finally we are here,” senior football player Zak Smith said. “And it is just…it is insane.”
Vanessa Kuechler and Marina Dietel support the team with drinks. The trainers and managers helped the football team throughout their season and are proud and excited with their victory. “With all the work that these guys have put in, they have really really paid off. This is the moment that we have been dreaming for.” trainer Angela Fields said. “I have been so proud to work with these guys for three years, it has just been amazing how I have watched these guys grow up and win state.”
The Cheerleaders take a break from cheering in front of the student section to perform during half time. “I am so excited, it was an awesome experience to cheer through the whole undefeated season and cheer on the Trojans during the semi-state game,” junior cheerleader Leslie Fisher said.
The Dance Team takes a knee when a Penn player is injured. “I am so excited to finish out the senior year with an undefeated season. It is incredible, I am so proud of the boys and everybody who worked so hard,” senior dancer Katie Swaney said. “I am so excited!”
